At this point, due to time constraints, we will need to do this early in JavaFX 20 rather than late in JavaFX 19 (which is probably better anyway).
I plan to get to this next week.
@bourgesl One more thing: can you please merge the latest upstream master into your branch, since it is now several months out of date.

The revised approach doesn't appear to have the same threading issues that the first attempt did (good). I would have thought you could add some logic to the existing scene...
I don't have a good suggestion at the moment. Converting this to Draft, since it isn't (yet) ready for review.
