yes ESC to either cancel reply or to leave focus of the "new status" input box would be neat (and then "c" to close the left bar)
Back button to close the full screen picture zoom would be great as well

Just discovered account switch in Android Gmail is just a vertical swipe on the account icon. How cool is that!?
