This still needs some work, but wanted to get thoughts on the general idea. Goal here is to add a batch consume method, already available in the C and Python...

We have added basic proto3 support, but the "reserved" keyword is not currently supported.

You can append arbitrary integer values to a repeated enum field, regardless of whether or not it is a valid value for that enum.
