I like it, but I don't think it's acceptable for a patch version due to the breaking change to ExprDamageCause. It'd be good for dev/feature for 2.9, though.

Can we get tests for this? Have you tested with negative numbers, infinities, NaN, etc?
I'm also of the opinion that `will` is a better way to say the same thing. Should is kind of wishy washy and doesn't make any exact claims. Will does...
