This would be extremely useful! We've had a few instances of users crafting /topic's with `` tags, to cause alert pop-ups _(claiming we've been hacked)_ on our IRC website's channel...

It works with ircu. We use Xtheme with ircu (and GNUworld) on IRC4Fun for the last ~3 years with no issues. Can you please elaborate on the issue you're having...
After thinking more and more about this, **this would be better performed with bots**. I will keep the idea in issues so that I can continue to think this over...
