Still occurs on the latest beta `2.12.9` with Valve Index on Fedora 42 and NVIDIA RTX 3080.
Managed to reproduce this and fix this by adding `"enableLinuxVulkanAsync" : true` in `steamvr` block of `~/.steam/steam/config/steamvr.vrsettings`.
