Update, I left my computer for a really long break and when I came back the documents loaded in. If I refresh though, they aren't showing up 
@lifeilu I implemented a hacky way to do it and never got back to fixing it according to @sukai-cheng comment. You should probably try that out first before doing what...

I'm having the same issue on vuetify 2.4.3
I discovered that if you set a `color` then it shows the current date properly
