We've also seen this behavior, and have had a similarly hard time pinning it down. Might it be possible to put a button on the interface to hard re-sync connections...
Happy to put together a PR for this (though I'm still learning my way around Rust). Are you thinking we'll want just a simple `cargo doc` or something more involved...

We stream logs to stdout of the container, and container log streams are piped to a logstash instance, so would be really nice not to have to munge things after...
