``std::ifstream::fread`` expects a ``char*`` so that change would still require casting the buffer. ``boost`` is already a dependency and I confirmed ``boost::endian`` is installed by ``libboost-dev`` in the gnss-sdr instructions....
FWIW on my machine (Ubuntu 18.04), compiled for Release, these changes reduce the size of the `gnss-sdr` executable by 112 bytes (from 12277400 to 12277288)

I have this issue on Ubuntu 22.04 as well. libmosquitto1 is installed on the system and but I'm guessing it's looking for libmosquitto inside the AppImage and it isn't there.
I'll raise my hand as someone that does use (and greatly appreciates) PlotJuggler with MQTT. I think we were able to successfully build from source on that system.
I'm having this issue as well. I haven't tried the fix verbatim, but modifying the pandoc arguments to ``--markdown-headings=atx`` is working as a temporary workaround. +1 for getting this fix...
