In your situation, azdev is used to test, build. Acutally, without azdev, you can also do them manually but just a bit toublesome.

Have you ran tests in live mode and playback again?
It's widely requested feature. But not have to implement in azdev. We will plan it.
Which sub-comman are you using?
Because currently, some commands require run in virtual env only.
