This looks like the certificate you're looking to load is not being found on the path provided. Try passing in a _complete fully qualified pathname_. I ran some tests here...
The difference between running it on the terminal and in Xcode primarily has to do with the path. I suggest that you use the _fully qualified pathname_ of the certificate....

Can you try it outside the simulator? I think permissions might be getting in the way when you use the simulator...
