Please add an option to hide the tab close button. It is not needed with the middle mouse button being far more convenient.

I hit this same issue - it definitely annoying. Is there a way to get the jar file to be put in a different directory?

This is still happening in 6.5.5
This feature is still broken in 6.5.10. Toggling `browser.tabs.closeButtons` in `about:config` does nothing.
