I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean that when you highlight an element in the list, that line is also highlighted in the editor?
Not yet. The original problem was discussed in bug [649717](https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649717) which was fixed and closed. This gave the Gedit team the API they need to expose a non root directory...
