@Oakyden forcing the peer dependencies doesn't really fix the issue when the code base hasn't been updated in 2+ years. It would be nice to see the authors look into...

I agree. I was about to submit a PR for this myself. :+1:
I attempted to open a PR for this issue, but it appears more complicated than simply updating the peer dep, and optionally using `createRoot`. Happily accepting feedback.
So far, the solution @azakus supplied seems to be working for me. Thanks!
