The character is U+200B (Unicode name: ZERO WIDTH SPACE).
Perhaps problems with ComparePlugin are due to PluginAdmin not installing the correct version? Try updating ComparePlugin manually from [Compare releases](https://github.com/pnedev/compare-plugin/releases).
@niunuinui The ComparePlugin at SourceForge is very old. Those files should not be used. [Yaron's comment](https://github.com/jsleroy/compare-plugin/issues/94#issuecomment-471645815) contains the correct links for the updated ComparePlugin v2.
Apparently, .Net differentiates between closing due to the Microsoft Windows Task Manager, and closing all applications before shutting down (see [CloseReason enum](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.windows.forms.closereason?view=netframework-4.8)).
No impact on NPP. I merely tried to point out that there must be some difference between terminate by task manager and terminate by shutdown, otherwise .Net framework would not...

@pnedev I can reproduce this (v2.0.0 32bit). Any idea what is going on here? And, more importantly, is this reproducible in ComparePlus?
