It seems predictive placement isn't 100% compatible with no loose items, thanks for reporting
couldn't you just add an airship landing tile (grass) to the airship desert tile block? it would both resolve the problem and be obvious to the player they can land...

i'm pretty sure spellcrafter has guarantee aoe elemental spells anyway, so there's no scenario where the spellbook has no aoe spells
