Additional input: When the frame is frozen, the advance mode shows STLCurrent both as empty. When it gets restored to a value, it does start showing stream again.
Keep noise threshold to lower value - it worked for me in several cases.

Was other party on Mobile? Most of our users are on Mobile, so I am not sure if it occurs on desktop as well - but dont remember noticing it...
for VP8, reducing frame rate has reduced battery consumption. After all the research, i have decided to go ahead with reduced frame rate + vp8
I also experience this issue some times. Will record the sound if possible next time :)
I have highly customized version of 3.3.0 Based on your previous comment, I have just implemented the fix of #256. Hope the issue will be resolved completely with this fix....
