@AdrianSoundy you are right "about free spi resources" that is what exactly we need to point but as @josesimoes said network on firmware need to work in same as Ethernet...
Try to compile with GCC 8.3.1 it create smaller file than 9.2.1 / 9.3.1 (i don't know what of reason but different is about 10 kb and more ..)
