As 7.0 EOL was 14th of May 2024 then regardless of distro/operating system tool .NET requirements need improvement. Also, checking repository shows that 8.0 support is almost there as mentioned...

Ok, there is already #1606 so it will be duplicate of it. As comments say there are [issues with signing](https://github.com/git-ecosystem/git-credential-manager/issues/1606#issuecomment-2150748156).

It is duplicate of #1606 as 2.5.0 has uses dotnet 8 but releasing to nuget.org seems to have issues. Workaround is to use tarball or source install until release issues...
