I have found that using the Attach Commands to Selected Objects > Stop (pausing machine) always first trims the thread. Which is what I wanted.
When I set a 'stop (pause machine) after this object' in inktstitch then Save as PES, transfer it to my machine. my machine stops, trims, lifts the foot and waits...
