Which third party clock apps are you referring to? I have the same issue. Start11 manages to correctly display date and time with a small taskbar/icon design. But it's overkill...

In my case, yes. In "classic view" everything works fine. Using IMAP. Can't verify the application source but I know in several cases of non-displayed attachments the contact uses Thunderbird...
