I've found the same issue as @LDClark, with the resultant dosimetric differences being enough to cause worry. Is it possible to just add GantryAngle to the admissable list of EditableParameters...
As a followup tidbit, VMAT beams created via scripting are represented in Eclipse (e.g. in transverse view for GantryAngle=0 beam) by a yellow arc with a smaller (17 cm) radius...
