Any update on this? We're also running into the same `java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unexpected ApiVersions request received during SASL authentication state HANDSHAKE_REQUEST` every 60 seconds on all brokers

potentially inconsistent event generation from consumer / producer on app start and after connection to broker is restored

@nenadlazovic I'm also seeing 2x consumer connect events. Did you ever figure out why this was occurring or is it an outstanding bug?
