Looks like it is linked to [https://github.com/opnsense/src/issues/178](url) axgbe does support this fully on Linux. Tested on the DEC850 with Debian 11.
Can implementing this be re-considered? I am using axgbe with BIDI modules and having the optical data is an important debugging aspect that I would really like to have accessible....
