Totally agree with the above. One of the best features of micro, in my opinion, is that it doesn't rely on modes... a mode for writing, another mode for reading...

Backslashes are treated as escape characters, except for in single-quoted strings. Does doubling the backslashes up or single-quoting the path fix it for you?
