I haven't tried it myself, but [`maya_fspy`](https://github.com/JustinPedersen/maya_fspy) looks like something you should check out.

Without knowing anything about `maya_fspy`, I would assume that it imports `.fspy` project files, like the Blender add-on does. So try importing your project file instead?
