Same problem for me, I tried with 2.0.1, 2.1.0.pre and directly with the repo at the last commit. I'm on Rails 4.2.1 and Ruby 2.2.1. I've seen from older closed...
I added also an option to limit the size of results, works when passing an array as source but not when using the ajax call
