I am experiencing similar issues also on windows. Both on VSCode terminal and Windows Terminal. A dark background obscures the text and makes it impossible to read.  
Yes, I would also find this feature to be very useful.

Records don't work in VB.NET whereas this package works great.
I enjoy it!
