For Ubuntu (and Distros based on Ubuntu) I recommend to install inkscape via ppa as described here: https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1.1/gnulinux/ubuntu/ppa/dl/ ``` sudo add-apt-repository ppa:inkscape.dev/stable sudo apt update sudo apt install inkscape ```

I also like the splash screen in grey more and the blue logo in grey would be a good match.
