Sorry for the delay on this! After a bit more digging, I couldn't reproduce `sphinx-design` (or `sphinx-tabs`) being incompatible with `sphinx` >= 5. I also checked the [raw rtd build](https://readthedocs.org/api/v2/build/17569784.txt)...
