What you are saying is absolutely correct. I think this change only makes sense in the context of pushing the whole parsing mess into a framework, as suggested also [here](https://github.com/scalatron/scalatron/issues/12)....
This issue is still open as of 1.0.1.0. That version includes some additional error logging to help nail this down.
The Git upgrade problem is an unrelated issue. I create a new ticket for it: [#49](https://github.com/scalatron/scalatron/issues/49).
As of 0.9.9.4, versioning is done. Missing are access to the tournament and to the sample sharing API.
