Hi, I'm sorry but I can't come up with a reason why that would not work. Have you tried plotting in a separate window or document?

I'm sure the problem is not about the size of the screen. The plot is not that big (or shouldn't be, at least), so it should fit in the graphics...

Good that you found the workaround for knitr, I was just about to suggest that. We are aware of this issue, it's a problem caused by mixing base and grid...
