Support for userspace (no kernel module) implementations

It would be great to have non-userspace implementations supported, especially for containers like docker, lxc, kubernetes or podman. One example is [boringtun](https://github.com/cloudflare/boringtun) and another is [wireguard-go](https://github.com/WireGuard/wireguard-go).
