I'm having the same issue with spring-cloud-starter-gateway-mvc:4.1.6 I tried @rlagoue's solution as a workaround and it worked fine
It's a good solution if you don't need multipart files at all in the gateway. I said "workaround" because I think the gateway is not intended to work in this...
