A thing that came to my mind is a [Karplus-Strong synthesizer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karplus%E2%80%93Strong_string_synthesis). Squiggly lines could represent strings being plucked. With that you could create harp like sounds, which would work nicely...
