How to add support for different hardware APIs

I would like to implement support for [Jack](http://jackaudio.org/). Should I include it as a pull request or should I build it as a seperate project, like I did with [NAudio](https://github.com/residuum/JackSharp/tree/master/NAudio.Jack)?

I have got this idea via email. There is https://libwebsockets.org/, which is LGPL. It is available in Debian (and Ubuntu), OS X has it with homebrew and MXE for Windows...
