Got it and totally agree circleci and travis are too limited. Reason you released https://github.com/oroinc/environment which should exactly do the job? I was running from here as well and same...

SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0

pretty sure its caused by wrong config pointing admin to backend: `NEXT_PUBLIC_MEDUSA_BACKEND_URL=http://localhost:7001` it should be on local `NEXT_PUBLIC_MEDUSA_BACKEND_URL=http://localhost:9000`
