Первый вариант как на реддите, в целом удобно.
Было бы удобно вообще скрывать/схлопывать заминусованные комментарии, а то сейчас если в первой ветке развели срач, то до следующего комментария первого уровня иногда приходится листать по несколько экранов. Или вынести...

Not really. But it's quite rare (I'm using uTox every day for years and I've seen this happened only couple times).
The goal is to avoid this thing from happening. In that case user is unable to see or copy his ToxID. 
I'll try. Just didn't think about it.
