I am having the same error. I know this project hasn't been active in awhile, but I wonder if there's a solution for this issue.
I was able to go past that error by installing 2 SSL Perl modules, but now I get: Couldn't get redirect. at /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.1/Net/Google/Tasks/Fetcher.pm line 113, line 2.
It seems that 4.0.0 isn't yet supported, see #343. Use 3.04/3.05
