Same thing happening with my new Dell S2721DGF... can't change to 1920x1080 hidpi. It's worked on all previous Dell models, wonder what has changed.

I had this issue and got it working by removing any of the files in `/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-10ac/` (Dell monitor). Then creating an entry from Edit... with only Retina & hidpi checked,...
