I am also seeing this behavior on non-empty components. I have gotten around the issue by rendering VirtualDoms instead https://dioxuslabs.com/reference/platforms/ssr.html

Thanks @pevandenburie! Windows assigned COM5 as the output and COM4 as input on my machine. Regardless, connecting to the output port worked for me.
