Yeah, it's kind of like that. They use it in their app (as I understand), but it's not documented - I can ask whether they even plan to publish it....
Not possible atm. You can suggest to add some additional parameter here (https://github.com/astina/AstinaSocialLinksBundle/blob/b878b7c0a1b0ff2915b1a953351055099444856a/Twig/SocialLinksExtension.php#L52), in which case you'll then just receive back the url.
