Regarding the usage of zeroize, it may be valuable to borrow theory from the [fast key erasure](https://blog.cr.yp.to/20170723-random.html) of the [CSPRNG in the linux kernel](https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/char/random.c#L174).
