Yes, you are right. The generated figure is not actually embedded into the notes, but rendered on-demand by the plugin. Adding an option to change that should definitely be possible....

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely try some of the free alternatives and see if they are suitable. Especially if any of them can create reasonable bash scripts.
