I'm using Lineage 19.1 (freshly installed, rooted with Magisk), and I encountered the exact same problem. Microsoft Authenticator imported seamlessly, for reference.

You already couldn't on Nextcloud 28. The dev is not updating this app anymore. You should read the rest of the open issues.
