Using a more recent version fixes this. Check the **releases** page. Currently using _"tymon/jwt-auth": "^1.0.0-rc.3"_ which works fine.

You can specify a different adapter by using omnipay/common instead of league/omnipay: `composer require omnipay/common:^3 php-http/curl-client`
In more recent versions of OpenVPN `client-cert-not-required` is no longer just deprecated. Using it will prevent OpenVPN from starting. The patch provided by @kpolucas works well for me.
