When i try to use it i get this error "AttributeError: 'Pool' object has no attribute 'returnConnection'"

Are you using the master branch or PyPi install? The master is in a currently not in a good state.

Can i use PySQLPool to shard data?

PySQLPool is just a connection pooling framework. So it has no built in functionality for sharding. This however doesn't stop you from being able to build a sharding layer above...
