+1 - especially for an approach like the conda-pack method, which feels a bit lighter weight, if possibly less generic.
Out of curiosity, if you aren't using conda explicitly, are you able to pick up the mkl dependencies for numpy in some other fashion? (eg, specific wheels?)
@kalefranz Hi - just for clarity: does conda currently use basic http authentication? Or is there a way to use NTLM (as asked above here: https://github.com/conda/conda/issues/5220#issuecomment-370412241) or with kerberos?
FWIW, I get the exact same result as @JeffBezanson, ubuntu 14.04, julia 0.3.6, and xfce4-terminal.
