God was eating up over 100% of my CPU on Ruby 2.0.0-p0. I updated to 0.13.3 and all appears to be good now.
I know this is pretty late, but you can do this with `combo: 'alt+s alt+c'`
I am also experiencing the same problem. Did setting `this.dfd` to null work for you? Are you using master branch or the 0.0.29 release?
Just a note, I'm using the web version and it is not resolving correctly.

I am also experiencing this issue with the same error message.
I can say that in my case caching worked like a charm. It saved me about 93% of serialization time. Using AMS 0.10.5. I'm serializing a lot of data though....
