A workaround for some use cases is to add an override.tf under certain circumstances that redefines the lifecycle block of the resource.

As bmsimons writes in that readme, it basically a clone of the authorization_code nodejs app from spotify's examples. https://github.com/spotify/web-api-auth-examples So if you have nodejs, using that is an alternative.
